Most acute pharyngitis is viral. Sage infusion as a gargle is European traditional monograph territory. Marshmallow soothes. Drooling, stridor, and a toxic adolescent is airway, not sage. Unilateral tonsillar bulge is abscess.

  • Stridor, drooling, airway threat, unilateral bulge, muffled voice, immunosuppression, suspected strep needing that test
