Convalescence / post-illness recovery

After influenza or surgery, people ask for a tonic. Asian ginseng is a traditional convalescent with mixed human fatigue data and insomnia/BP costs. American ginseng is milder. Ashwagandha if the leftover is stress-sleep. Ongoing fever, night sweats, or post-exertional malaise with an ME/CFS picture is a different workup.
